Lest you think that low fat = low flavor, not in the least. Spices and herbs are pretty much devoid of fat calories. It is the combination of low fat cuts of meat and/or veggies and seasonings that make this a culinary masterpiece. Ms. Clegg goes beyond that however, and shows us how to use the recipes for lunches, dinners and special occasions. Cooking terms, a list of staples, tips and tricks and basic principles of cooking are included as well. Each recipe will include either a 'Quick Tip' or a 'Food Fact'.

Summary: Finally, a cookbook with low fat recipes my husband will eat
Comment: Best cookbook I ever owned. Recipes are all fast, easy, and use common ingredients. Best of all, they are delicious. Every recipe includes the nutritional information per serving. The book has brunch, soups & salads, main dishes, and desserts. It is so nice to have a healthy cookbook that is not mainly fish or chicken dishes. There are also beef and pork dishes, as well as pasta dishes,so there is a lot of variety. Desserts include such things as cookies and cakes. I am really enjoying this book and so is my family. I highly recommend it to anyone (even if you are not trying to eat healthy).

Summary: GREAT FIND!...
Comment: This is an absolutely fabulous cookbook. The recipes are delicious and easy to make. My children thought I had gone to cooking school when I first tried this book. The freezer friendly section makes for great planning and the vegetarian section is perfect for my daughter. This book is filled with all kinds of helpful hints and extras (Who needs a lot of pictures, I would rather have more recipes). The directions are perfectly clear. I would ditch the subscription to Cooking Light and buy her whole series.
