Summary: Great plan and great book. Beats running.
Comment: I have found this book to be a revelation. I am 40 years old, and a heavy runner. I had been experiencing all sorts fo nagging injuries, and, after reading this book, it occurred to me that perhaps I had been eroding my muscle mass by too much running. Since then, I have cut down the running, begun lifting (with the great and clearly presented workout plan), and I have been stunned by the results. I have lost some "softness" around my middle, my muscle tone has improved considerably, I feel incredibly good, and I am eating better than I have ever have. And, yes, my "testosterone" feels great. Perhaps much of this information is not new. But I had never heard it before. The key for me is that the diet is so good. I am never hungry, as you eat five times a day, with mid-day snacks consisting of peanuts, cottage cheese, glassed of juice or chocolate milk, etc. This is no "Atkins" type of extreme. Rather, you cut out the crap, and you eat lots of protein and whole grains. It is very practical and very healthy. What is most remarkable to me is how good I feel. This program has revitalized me, and I feel better than I did when I was running 40 miles a week (now I am running about 6-10 miles a week). I feel stronger, fitter, thinner, and even mentally I feel more alert and less sluggish. This is a great book that completely delivers. And it is well written and a joy to read as well. A great book for Men's Health.

Summary: This is it!
Comment: This program is excellent for the post-college, over-partied, and worn out souls in their late twenties early thirties! The program presented gives great results in just a few weeks. Most diet plans stand by themselves without proper instructions for physical training. The diet given in this book is designed for men, helps build muscle, and doesn't leave you hungry. I started seeing results in 3 weeks.

If you are looking to get yourself back into shape, this 9-week program will get you there for sure. I'm lifting more weight than I did as a freshman in college. The work-outs are simple and take up less than 4 hours a week. I feel I'm better prepared to participate in activities I like to do such as backpacking and running.

I started at 262 pounds and in 4 weeks lost 2" off my waist and about 15lbs. The results are fantastic and I can wait to see where I'll be in 3 months when I get married.

Summary: A new workout bible!
Comment: A very good book for the beginner and the advanced alike. The book dispells many of the myths about exercise and weight training. It also sheds some excellent light on sports nutrition such as when to eat and what to eat. Sections about cholestrol were very informative and benefitted me personally. The workout plans are superb and really demand a lot out of you. The only drawback, I thought, the book had was the over-emphasys the authors placed on testosterone as if it were the main objective of the book. Otherwise, this book is a must read for every man who wants to get in shape.
