Summary: A Pagan Almanac for our Global Village
Comment: Pagans from every village across the globe are beautifully represented in this most unusual almanac. I bought a copy well before the new year but that didn't stop full engagement with the numerous spells, bits of information and cross-cultural rituals contained within Llewellyn's Spell-a-Day Almanac. I found that I gained a wider appreciation for traditions that I had never even thought of as having anything in common with my own. This almanac expanded personal horizons, for the better. I appreciate a book that makes obvious, though not forced, efforts to be inclusive and well-rounded. Two thumbs up, for a well done, much needed, international approach to spells drawn from diverse paths, rather than the traditional ones that are entirely grounded by Eurocentricity.

Summary: A joke
Comment: This is a joke. I have read a lot of books, but this has to be the worst I have EVER read. Ever. It makes Silver Ravenwolf look like Ronald Hutton. Seriously. It's THAT terrible. This book is an insult to all pagans everywhere. It should be called, "Christian Self-Help on a Broom". I just can't express my disgust and contempt for this book. It's so bad, I'm almost speechless.

Included are rituals for Ramadan, prayers to St. Francis and numerous other Christian saints. I don't think there isn't a cultural or religious tradition that hasn't been ripped off for use in this book. This is not only disrespectful to pagans, but the religions who this book is ripping off who practice their own cultural traditions, not to mention the gods and spirits of said traditions.
