Summary: Lockhart did not make it seem like an intro text.
Comment: Lockhart is a wonderful researcher, but he may have forgot how to organize content so that introductory students can follow his words. I would not recommend this book for intr classes.

Summary: Introductory!? This is not an introductory book!
Comment: The book goes over the basic model building method of data analysis, but lacks the simplicity needed for an introductory course. The syntax and grammer was inappropriate for introductory level students. Use Sprinthall...that is an introductory text.
