Comment: This book is very moving and gentle. It is very comforting for a child to hear and good for reading before bedtime. Safe, comforting and loving, I highly recommend it.

Summary: A beautiful book!
Comment: This is one of those picture books where the pictures don't just reflect the story, but add an extra dimension to it. The words are more poetry than prose, and the whole effect is stunning. Although in many ways very different from The Rainbabies (same author), the two books share a timeless, fairy-tale quality that brings tears to the eyes. I think I could read this one every day and never get sick of it.
