Summary: Not just for depression
Comment: The fact that the book's title has the phrase "anti-depression" in it is a bit misleading, as I think EVERYONE can benefit from this book. I think Dr. Stoll mentions many other conditions as much as depression, and he makes some very important points that pregnant women should know as well.
If even half of Dr. Stoll's research is true in the real world, this may be the biggest medical advance in a very long time. His clinical studies show a huge potential for Omega 3's to improve of health of all people. If you've read anything by Dr. Andrew Weil, add this book to your collection. Dr. Weil also believes in the power of Omega 3's. Dr. Stoll elaborates on it.
I also believe that this book is extremely important for anyone who currently takes Omega 3 supplements. Dr. Stoll covers the dangers associated with toxicity (due to what people have done to our oceans), and how to get around that danger and get your healthy Omega 3's!

Summary: Baby Brain Development... Without Postpartum Depression
Comment: Numerous studies have found that babies who are breastfed are smarter and healthier than babies who are bottle-fed. Now, Dr. Stoll suggests that the missing ingredient in infant formula is Omega 3 fatty acids, an essential building block for every baby's growing brain.
The down side for mothers has been that pregnancy and breast-feeding sap the mother's body, leaving her deficient in Omega 3 fatty acids... which may lead to postpartum depression. As a mother-to-be who has a history of minor depression, I was very concerned when I started to slip into anxiety spells late in my seventh month (shortly after my baby began the serious brain-building of late gestation). I began taking supplements as recommended in this book, and my mood was significantly better within a few days. After the baby was born, I had no postpartum depression.
I'm excited and I want to share the good news that my baby has Omega 3s to develop his brain... and I don't have to suffer from depression or anxiety!
Rating: 4
Summary: good guide, but smacks of marketing
Comment: This book does present a persuasive case for the efficacy of Omega-3 in treating depression. But there's a little too much of "so you should buy our product, because it's the BEST omega-3 on the market!!!" Yes, your company's omega-3 tablets are of great quality and high concentration. But excessive promotion detracts from the scientific message of the book.
