Summary: Honest
Comment: Deals with both uplifting and dark messages about death. Pike has successfully woven several short stories into one awesome novel...as a group of friends gather at midnight to tell many stories about love, revenge, anger, and acceptance. One night during a meeting, they make a pact. The first to die (yes, it sounds depressing--but it is actually very heart-felt) has to try to come back and tell the others about the afterlife. Ten years later, and still my favorite Pike book. My copy has ink throughout...highlights and notes. This is how I read all the Pike books--hoping to find some philosophical message that my mind either understands or will think about until it gets the point. Part of my entertainment in reading is that I just may have to learn something...and rethink my own beliefs. Pike is really good at doing this.

Summary: Pike's most emotional novel to date
Comment: Of all the Christopher Pike books I've read, (about two dozen), the Midnight Club is prbably the most well written and most emotionally charged. The individual plot threads of each character are also so well-developed, by the end of the book you feel as if you have been living in Rotterdam Home hospice with all the characters and attending all the meetings of The Midnight Club.

Summary: A Lover of Christopher Pike and R.L. Stine
Comment: This is the best book I've read in a long time. This book makes you cry and think about your life, and be happy being healthy. This is Christopher Pikes best. He put in so much soul that I could feel myself there. Not a lot of books can make you cry and feel grateful at the same time. You should get this book if you want to feel like you are a character of the book, but you're not named as a character in the character's lives.
