Summary: "Hard-Nose Style . . . OK Action."
Comment: When mini-atomic bombs go missing in Germany, it's up to Richard Marchinko's SEAL team to get 'em back. Enlisting the help of a hush-hush German counter-terrorist team, both groups go up against ultranationalist businessman Lothar Beck, who wants to create his own Reich. The book read like a personal memoir than your typical action-adventure book. All told from Marchinko's POV. Some peaks and valleys in the story. I did enjoy the insider information on SEAL missions and Marchinko's rather nitty-gritty thoughts on the current state of the U.S. military and the people in the White House. Very, VERY *ahem* colorful expressions used. Very good drama when the ol' Rogue & co. infiltrate Beck's HQ. The final assault on the Beck castle was great! Especially the big, bloody brawl between Marchinko & a former GSG-9 commando turned Beck stooge. One problem I had was sometimes Marchinko's reflections interrupted the flow of some of the action scenes. Still, overall, a pretty decent book.

Summary: Doom on Dickie
Comment: Too bad I can't give minus stars... minus 5 would be giving too much credit. Seven bucks down the toilet in my opinion. WTF, being macho is fine but little Dickie must wear a size 38 hat to match his IQ.
Full commander in the Navy, huh? Now there is an example of the military state of incompetence that Dickie tries to present. The book itself is pure formula fiction with Dickie as the rogue hero and the rest of his two-dimensional characters inserted merely to prop up his over inflated ego. As a veteran of SpecOps myself, I think Dickie is FOS (look it up in the glossery). His tactics are a sham, his mission is covert yet he brags to everyone he meets that he is a SEAL. If this work of fiction is based upon his personal experiences, as he claims, then it's a miracle that he and his team are still among the living. Option Delta is now lining the bottom of my trash can. Shame on Pocket Books and Simon & Schuster for publishing such garbage.

Summary: HOOYAH!
Comment: Another outstanding, highly motivational piece of Roguish action from good ol' Demo Dick, my favorite author. I had the pleasure of reading this book right after graduation from the USAF Security Forces Academy at Lackland AFB, TX. In retrospect, it's apropos that the main villain is a German, seeing how Germany is proving to be such an unreliable "ally" in our current War on Terror.
