Summary: not the usual standard
Comment: What a let down this book was. I read 'Guilty as sin' a while back and loved it, so I've been reading some of her other books. None of them have been as good, this one is particularly bad. I find that Tami Hoag's books are rather predictable, and are more romance than crime. Gorgeous girl meets handsome man, cue lashings of sex (depicted in graphic detail) and not much else. In 'Magic' there is no plot, just a predictable romance between the two major characters. This is so similar to another Hoag book 'Lucky's Lady': the man and woman, both good looking, meet, don't get along, but are overcome with sexual desires and end up in bed.
Boring, is my verdict on this book.

Summary: Not bad for an early work, an easy read
Comment: I am surprised so many people said so many bad things about MAGIC by Hoag. This is one of her early works that I read when it was first published years and years ago. I liked it then and I like it now since I re-read it. No, its not an in-depth mystery, suspense romance. But for what it is, just an easy enjoyable read, it is a very good story. There is mystery with bad guys and a ghost and some romance. This book is well worth reading.

Summary: What is that smell?
Comment: This is the story of a young girl who comes home to care for her mother who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease. Little does she know before her arrival, an old friend of her mother is already there, trying to bring proof to her hysterical claims that the house she owns is haunted by an elusive ghost. Young girl falls in love with this man who is first perceived as a threat to her security. The two fall in love and live happily ever after.
Phew!
Somebody open a window!
This is a twelve year old drama queen's idea of romance and the world of grown-ups. Said daughter is a woman of the world at the ripe old age of sixteen. Her "aged" mother is a mere thirty six as is her longtime friend, who rattles on about the infirmities he suffers in his "old age." The writing style constantly switches person and tense. The story is ridiculously predictable. The entire tale was a complete departure from any form of reality. Dear reader is well-advised to throw this book out the window he has just opened.
