Summary: One of Roberts' very best!
Comment: Sweet Revenge is quite simply magnificent! I read it years ago and was thrilled when it was re-released. I don't much care for thieves, but Nora has a way -- in this book, in her earlier one, Hot Ice, and in her later one, Honest Illusions -- of making thieves truly honorable... quite a feat in my opinion since I think "honor among thieves" is an oxymoron!
The plot, showing Adrianne's past and how it has molded her present, is fabulous. I loved Jaquir and I enjoyed my visit there. :-) I especially loved Adrianne and Philip's wedding... beautiful! The secondary characters were not mere foils but truly contributed to the story. Abdu was thoroughly reprehensible; Celeste, strong and loving; Mary, wise; and Phoebe, sweet and surprisingly dynamic in her struggle with mental illness.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime story. Savor it because not many books of this magnitude come along. Take a bow, Nora!

Summary: Riveting reading
Comment: I've read about 30 Nora Roberts books and there are very few I haven't liked, which makes it hard to choose favorites! But this would have to be one of them -- "un-put-downable" to the end. Sure, it's not exactly her most realism-based book -- a fictional country, a jewel-thieving princess, an Interpol agent who happens to be an ex-thief himself -- but who reads for realism anyway? The tension that Adrianne felt returning to her native Jacquir transmitted to the reader, and I couldn't wait for her to get out safely. A very good read.

Summary: Great story!!!
Comment: I love this story! I disagree to some reviewers who find it boring and thinks that only a true Nora Roberts' fan will give it a 4 or 5 star. I have no idea who is Nora Roberts before I read this book. I happened to picked this book up in the library and read the summery behind the paper back. And I decided to borrow it. And was I amazed! I got so adicted to the story and the characters that I could not put the book down. I never finish a story book within a day. And I did for this one. I wish this book could be make into a movie. It will be interesting. Recently, I just watched this movie "The Sleeping Dictionary" and the leads, Hugh Dancy & Jessica Alba remind me of the Princess Adrianne & Phillip in "Sweet Revenge". I think Jessica Alba will make a stunning Princess Adrianne and Hugh Dancy will look great as the handsome English man, Phillip. Anyway, this is kind of out of topic. I highly recommend "Sweet Revenge" to non Nora Roberts' fan and those who are her fans and haven't got the chance to read it. You will love it!
