Summary: challenging tradition
Comment: Mark Neufeld has written a much needed counter to the positivist-dominated subject of international relations theory. Furthermore, in outlining an interpretavist approach (in particular inspired by the work of Charles Taylor), he has developed a sophisticated alternative to mainstream methodology. This book thus serves as critique and stepping stone, and should be read by those interested in meta-theoretical issues and in the possibility and potential of critical IR theory.
