Summary: A brilliant book for those who can read Latin!
Comment: If you are, like myself, a student studying Latin this book is an excellent read, for pleasure or for studying! The accompanying commentary is full and comprehensive, and the notes at the beginning cover almost anything you could wish to know about Book VIII. Gransden's style is modern and clear, without a lot of fussy attempts at erudition, and yet everything is covered, from stylistic features to comparisons with Homer. If you can read Latin, it's definitely worth a look!
