Summary: Good little book
Comment: Just a Little Different is a short book designed to teach young readers to accept people who are physically different than themselves. This is done through comparing and contrasting through words and pictures. A page will say "He's a lot like me" and show a picture of a boy and a girl sitting on a couch. Two pages forward it says "But he is a little different." with a picture of the girl sitting in a chair at a table and the boy sitting in his wheel chair. The book goes to some length to show how Josh, the boy in the story, is similar to his friend in his ability to do most activities like play catch, swim, watch movies, have friends and join clubs at school. The book spends very few pages on the differences. These differences are using stairs versus using a ramp and not being able to reach stuff that is higher up. The vocabulary in this book should be easy for beginning readers. Overall, it is a very good book to use as an introduction for children whom people want to aquaint with the issues of physically disabilities.
