Summary: Useful, but imperfect
Comment: This book is a useful guide for university students with a special interest in abnormal psychology. It contains many useful references and I found the bibliography very easy to use. The content of the book is easy to absorb, clearly written, if a bit perfunctuary in detail. A useful book to have as a back up to a main text, but not sufficiant on it's own.
Neale is a competent writer and his books are used by most universities with a course in abnormal psychology, but this is not one of the best. Better is his co-ordinated effort with Davison called simply Abnormal psychology.
Worth a read, some parts are extremely interesting and thought provoking.
