Summary: This book is a classic in the field
Comment: Pretty much the best book you'll find in the area of infrared system engineering. I just started learning about this field, and it gives a very clear and lucid introduction to this area. I was referred to this book by somebody who has been in the field for a long time and who still uses this book for reference. Though the technology is out-dated, the book is dominated by concepts and is relevant to those trying to understand the arcane field of IR.
