Title: The Death of Innocence: Jonbenet's Parents Tell Their Story by John Ramsey, Patsy Ramsey, Patricia Ann Ramsey ISBN: 0-451-40973-6 Publisher: Onyx Books Pub. Date: 09 January, 2001 Format: Paperback Volumes: 1 List Price(USD): $7.99 |

Rating: 5
Summary: Presumed guilty until proven innocent
Comment: This is the story of the tragic way in which the media circus surrounding the murder of the Ramsey's six year old daughter stripped them of their privacy, their wealth, and destroyed their lives. The Ramseys have been publicly accused of the murder of their daughter, tried and convicted in the court of public opinion, the media, and presumed guilty until they prove themselves innocent.
The story of JonBenet's last day of her life, Christmas Day 1996 is told by her parents.
The many ways the murder was exploited by the tabloids, the press, the Boulder Police Department with their leaks to the press, and the internet sub-culture with its hate-the- Ramseys forums is discussed and many of the side shows that have attached themselves to the case in bizarre ways.
The actions of the Ramseys and the investigators are discussed in the book in detail. A must read for the serious follower of the JonBenet murder case no matter which side of the fence one is on.

Summary: Give me a break!
Comment: The Death of Innocence is the story of how JonBenet's parents were thrust under the spotlight of suspicion shortly after their beauty queen daugher was found brutally murdered in their mansion. It tells about the last day of JonBenet's life-Christmas 1996. Although it answers SOME questions, it doesn't seem very truthful and only brings up more questions. The book was released at the wrong time, and it mostly talks about revenge on the people that murdered their daughter. It also gives a discription of what the "killer" may look like. I didn't believe a word of the bologna they dished. This book is all about people that need to pity them, and not enough about the daughter that should have been the most important thing in their lives. I would not reccomend this TRASH.

Summary: Wonderful Book
Comment: This book was beautifully written as the love and passsion of the parents of JonBenet Ramsey. It tells the real story the way it happened and it tells of the STUPID MISTAKES THE INEXPERIENCED POLICE DEPARTMENT MADE. If only the media knew the true story......
