Comment: This is the ninth book I have read in this series and I believe it is one of the best yet! Jessica Fletcher, along with close friends Dr. Seth Hazlett and Mort and Maureen Metzger travel down to Florida for the funeral of an old friend from Cabot Cove, Maine. Portia Shelby had left Cabot Cove years earlier to settle in a retirement community there and had recently been found dead on the beach from an apparent heart attack. However, upon their arrival Jessica and company soon begin to have their suspicions that Portia's death may not have been from natural causes. As always, Jessica comes through in the end and solves the mystery concerning her friend's death.
Mr. Bain paints such a detailed and colorful description of Florida and especially Key Largo that you'll want to grab your swimsuit and suntan lotion and head for the Sunshine State! There is also much of the usual fun interplay here between Jessica and Seth as Jessica tries to help Seth keep both his temper and his appetite in check during the trip. This is a wonderful addition to the series and one you won't want to miss!
