Summary: This book is being sold for nine dollars??
Comment: The price would be a bargain just for one of the books it contains. Some of these books (and a lot of Pinkwater's others) start out with ordinary kids or teenagers who have adventures and slowly find things getting weirder and weirder. Others just start out weird and never let up. _Alan Mendelsohn, the Boy from Mars_ is probably the best of these five. It makes surviving high school sound almost fun; Alan Mendelsohn brightens up a dull day by tripping people, telling his history class about Ben Franklin's sex life, and telling the whole school he's a Martian. He's my new role model. _The Snarkout Boys and the Avacado of Death_ is similar in that it's about high school boys who make their lives more interesting -- by sneaking out at night to the Snark Theater and making friends with avacado-obsessed movie-lovers. _Young Adult Novel_ is delightfully clever, absurd, and ironic, and _The Last Guru_ is pretty good as well. (I haven't finished _Slaves of Spiegel_ yet.) If you like Pinkwater at all, it's hard to go wrong with the funny, fascinating books in this collection.

Summary: Awesome book, The coolest, funniest, and best author ever.
Comment: Alan Mendleson, Boy from Mars -- This was one of the first Pinkwater books I read. (It is also one of the best) The slaves of Spiegel -- Great. Sequel to 'Fat Men from Space'. I wish there was a magic moscow resteraunt in my town. TheThe Snarkout bous and the avacodo of Death -- Everyone should Snarkout at least once in their lives. Young adult Novel -- Extremely funny. I can't give away the rest.

Summary: Fun for all ages!
Comment: I was a huge fan of Mr Pinkwater as a young adult, voraciously reading all of his work that I could get my hands on. The strange, yet appealing stories, clicked with me in my awkward teen years. As I grew up I forgot his work, but to my delight rediscovered his work one day in my favored book store with this book. 5 Novels contains some of his BEST work, and it was a grand way for me to relive my earlier years. His stories are relavent to young and old alike, and I highly recommend you pick up this book!
