Summary: Celie gets her man!!
Comment: I always love Anne's books and this one was no disappointment.
Celie isn't your usual one dimensional fiesty heroine, she was cruely dumped at only 19yrs old and had a long way to come to rebuild her self esteem, to find her self. She found Jace too, I think she deserved her delicious cowboy.
I've taken a shine to Artie too, hope he pops up in future Code of the West books.

Comment: I like the fact that this book started out with a less than "mature" heroine. Celie has some growing up to do...and she does! With the help of one fine cowboy--Jace.
Another keeper in McAllister's fabulous Code of the West series! Keep 'em coming, Anne!

Summary: Not her best, but better than others' books
Comment: You've got to like a man who'll travel thousands of miles to show his woman he loves her, and that's what Jace does in Ms. McAllister's latest Code of the West book. However, because the hero and heroine admit they love one another halfway through the book, the second half is anticlimatic and contrived to make up a conflict. What woman these days expects a man to not have had lovers in the past? The heroine comes across as childish and neurotic. Jace could do better, and I know Ms. McAllister can as well. A Cowboy's Tears, for a start. Still, Ms. McAllister has a gift for drawing readers into her characters' heads and making them stay there, and every book she writes is guaranteed to satisfy on some level, so I do recommend her to romance readers.
