Summary: More S & M than Sex Frolics
Comment: Although tightly plotted with well-drawn characters, this book focuses more on bondage, domination, whips, canes and verbal abuse rather than hot sex. In fact the "members of the corps" are forbidden to have "regular" sexual intercourse with each other. So if you're hoping for steamy male-female sex scenes, keep shopping. If you're into paddles and crops, and occasional female-female sex, you'll probably like it.

Comment: Watching Remy discover herself. Seeing her come alive as she makes mistakes and recovers...this is a great book. Exciting scenes and excellent imagery, getting inside Remy's head as she finds herself exploring the world of BDSM, was as stimulating as anything I have read. I can't wait for another.
I recommend you discover the world of Remy as she discovers herself. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Disappointing
Comment: I really didn't like this book. It seemed to be an emotionless exposition of events. None of the characters were likeable and I found nothing erotic about the D/s scenes at all. In fact they were harsh, cold and bordering on brutal. Even the character admits this towards the end - so what was the point? I'd hate any man to think that women want to be "abused" or "beaten to within an inch of their life" even in a D/s relationship. I'm surprised Black Lace published it. If you want to read good D/s erotica read Laura Antoniou or Anne Rice.
