Summary: Pure Elegance.....
Comment: is what this book is. For me personally I found it very inspiring and John Paul actually opens up a new realm of thinking when creating digital imagery. Each chapter is well thought out and easy to follow, although I don't think it's a book for beginners to learn from. That's not to say it couldn't be inspiring, but one must have a very good understanding of Photoshop to take his techniques and implement them. His approach to creating images is truly unique and particular chapters ending with a couple of techniques to create what has been talked about. i.e Color to Grayscale, Multitone image creations etc.

Summary: Vast technical knowledge, deep insight - for photographers
Comment: This is the only Photoshop book that addresses not only how but why. It's aimed at photographers and it speaks their language. It doesn't cover unrelated topics. It's focused! It's great to see a second edition that doesn't just update screenshots and cover new features but rather offers 50% more material. This book could be used with almost any recent version of Photoshop, including the latest - CS. Caponigro is one of the finest artists working with Photoshop and reading this book is like getting a first-hand glimpse into the artist's mind while hearing his voice speak directly to you. It will change the way you think about making images. It's an amazing ride!
