Summary: well worth the read
Comment: Dr. Goldstein's book answered so many of the questions I had regarding the changes my body has undergone since turning 40. It never occurred to me that there were simple medical explanations with simple solutions. I particularly liked Goldstein's step by step analytical approach. Armed with information from the book when I met with my doctor (and my herbalist), I was able to ask the proper questions, accurately describe my symptoms, and receive effective treatment. It's nice to know that, no, I'm not going crazy, I'm a normal 41 year old woman experiencing perimenopause. A great read!

Summary: Don't judge a book by its cover
Comment: I really wasn't sure about this book just based on the cover. Boy was glad I changed my mind and purchased it! Like another reviewer I've read several books on the subject of perimenopause. None can compare to COULD IT BE...PERIMENOPAUSE? Dr. Goldstein has provided such a great service to those of us who are wondering what the heck is going on with our bodies and minds during this sometimes trying time. One of the sections that I was so glad to read is about dealing with symptons in a natural way. He asks, "Do you really want it natural or safe?" Dr. Goldstein brings up great points in answering this question. I realized what I wanted was safe and if at all possible natural. If anyone is contemplating surgery, get a copy of this book and read the section about this subject. It is very important and a REAL eye opener. I wish I had this book before I had surgery. This book really educates you and prepares you to ask more questions when visiting your OB/GYN.

Summary: Finally some light in the darkness
Comment: I am not the type to usually write reviews, but I feel very stronly about this book. I am thrilled to find this readable, educational, and friendly book which anticipates, and answers so many of the questions about why my 46 year old body is acting the way it is. This book has made me feel so much more in control of what is occurring physically. Education is power, and this book educated and empowered me. I have bought it for many of my friends, and I highly recommend it.
