Summary: For a 3 country guides this one is great!
Comment: One region, three worlds. If you plan to travel in and among these three Andean countries, this is a top rated guide. Though the information is pertinent for all travelers, this guides focus is on the budget traveler.
I have lived in Peru, on and off, for the past 8 years and can attest that the reports are as accurate as they are informative. The 10 writers and 3 editors have done a great job condensing the most important aspects of each of the countries. Their introduction section, which covers the history, culture, religion and arts found in these three Andean countries is terse. If you want more information on these countries consider the excellent "In Focus Guides", which will fill in the significant gaps.
The "Essential" section in the book is basic, but complete enough. I was impressed with information found in the "Specific Concerns" portion of this section (Women Travelers, Travel Companions, Older Travelers, Traveler with Disabilities and Gay Travelers). Let's Go has devoted an entire section to "Alternatives to Tourism" where those who are considering studying, working (including doing archeological digs), conservation or volunteering. If you are considering staying a while and getting involved then you will find this to be an excellent collection of information and leads.
I live near Cusco and frequent the restaurants and I am well acquainted with the dining & accommodations mentioned in this guide. Let's Go is 'right on the money' and up-to-date with all of their selections. Also, their descriptions of the restaurants are the best of any of the guides out today. For example, regarding the 'Los Peros Bar & Grill in Cusco', the writer says; "This 'wine and couch bar' is hip and funky and offers a small but delicious menu of fairly cheap eats. This gourmet deli by day transforms into a fun, crowded hotspot by night." Their "Nightlife" sections (bars & clubs) are great. All their recommendations are marked on a fairly decent local map and all have the phone number, address, current price and, where applicable, the establishment's web-page.
Because this 700-page guide covers three countries you are not going to get the amount of information that you would in a specific country guides. Sadly, 'Let's Go' omitted one of the newest Inca ruins, that is a "must see", 'Choquechirao'. Also, the more pricey, but posh, accommodations and restaurants are omitted.
If you are going to two or all of these countries, if you are on a budget, and if you want only one guide this is the best on the market today. Highly Recommended

Summary: A big help for those wanting to travel...
Comment: I recently traveled to Chile and Peru. I used this book as my guide for my Peruvian adventure. I found it to be very helpful and accurate. As an example when visiting Cusco, the information contained in this book allowed me to have an idea of what to expect before my arrival. The book has a map of the city and its down town area with hotels and tourist attractions clearly marked. It also has a lot of information regarding the city, its attractions and neighborhoods. The tips contained in the book made my life easier (for example, the book recommended to buy a "tourist pass", this "pass" pays for the entrance fee to places including almost every city attraction at a reasonable price. In Cusco there are many churches and museums you can visit, but while some charge you a fee, others don't allow you entrance if you don't have the tourist pass. This simple tip allowed me to save money, time and hassle while visiting the city). I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to travel to Peru.

Summary: Let's go and get another guidebook
Comment: These are not my words (Bill Bryson takes the credit), and it is sad to see that the series has hardly improved in the past 10 years.
Let's Go might have had some audience (it is written by students, for students) at the time when shoestring travel literature was not as developed as it is now. Today, however, the guide inaccuracy, unprofessional writing and overall feeling of amateurish outfit is hard to excuse (do not be fooled by professionally-looking cover).
Travel writing is a serious business: you would not board a plane piloted by an amateur pilot "who is keen to have a go", why would you pay good money for something obviously not put together by professionals? You may do so out of solidarity with fellow students, but will this improve your travel experience? I very much doubt this. The students, after all, need correct addresses and opening times as much as any traveller.
Try Rough Guide or Lonely Planet instead.
