Summary: Now These Women Know How to Tell A Story!
Comment: I finished reading this book yesterday, and I'm still in awe! DeBerry and Grant did a superb job of telling a beautiful story of frienship, betrayal, love, forgiveness, and letting go of the pain of the past. I wonder how the authors went about writing the book together, because it reads as though it was written by one person. One person with a profound voice, and a way with words that had me laughing out loud at some points, pissed off at some points, and crying like a baby at other points. And the way they wrote that Ramsey character! I fell in love with him right along with Gayle in the scene where she lost her virginity to him! And I was ready to take him back for Gayle in that scene in the cemetary! I think I identify more with Gayle than with any of the other characters in the book, but I loved them all!
This was definitely one of the best books I've read this summer, and I would even read it again. And I don't usually read books more than once, no matter how much I like them! I would also love to see this book made into a movie. For some reason, I see Vanessa L. Williams as the perfect Gayle. But enough of my raving about the book. If you haven't read it, you should! Believe me, you'll be glad you did!

Summary: I LOVED IT!
Comment: I read this book a couple of years ago when it first came out. I loved it. I found it to be a real page turner. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I think it showed, at least a little bit, what its like for a woman to put her career first and hit such highs and have no love, as in Pat's case, or to put everything in a man to have all the material things in life and be rendered so low, as in Gayle's case. I might have been a little partial to this book since one of the main character's name was not only the same as mine, but spelled the same, which you don't see often. I really liked this book and found it to be very entertaining and have been really looking forward to another book by this duo. I also thought this book would make a great movie. I mean, how many times have we been forced to sleep in that bed we made? Sometimes its as smooth as 300 count sheets. And other times, most times, it can be as lumpy as hell.

Summary: Best book by a black author ever
Comment: Although it's been some time since I read this book, I haven't been able to forget the powerful impact it had on me. All I will say is, you never know how someone will turn out so you are better off not prejudging people. Negative situations can yield positive results; and having all the advantages in life is no guarantee that a person will benefit or even appreciate what they've been given.
