Summary: Book for teachers
Comment: Within and Beyond the Writing Process In the Secondary English Classroom written by Reade Dornan, L ois Rosen and Marilyn Wilson was a very informative read. I liked how it included examples of current teachers. It is easier for me to learn how to do things by seeing others examples and what worked and didn't work for them. The pictures of the webs and sample work sheets made what they wrote easier to understand. This book covers grammar, research, the writing process and more. It wasn't a difficult read, but it definitely didn't flow like most that I have read. This book I would recommend for middle and high school teachers.

Comment: Secondary English Classroom

By Reade W. Dornan, Lois Matz Rosen, and Marilyn Wilson

This book intended audience is for secondary level English Teachers. This book could be good for beginning and veteran teachers.
I found it difficult to read. I read it in sections. They are many examples of what the authors were trying discuss through out the book. It also gives little assignments for the reader referred to as "Think/Writes." These "Think/Writes" enable the reader to practice what is being discussed within their own writing.
I believe this is an excellent book to use a reference but not necessarily a book to read from beginning to end. The ends of the chapters are summaries. Also in the middle of each chapter it has bullet sections for easily referenced information.

Comment: Review of "Within and Beyond the Writing Process in the Secondary English Classroom" Written by Reade W. Dornan, Louis Matz Rosen, and Marilyn Wilson.

I found this book hard to read because it was boring and repetitive, I may have enjoyed this book more if I had not read so many similar books in the past. It is more like reference book rather than a sit down read book. The print and layout of the book made for an even more boring book.

I would recommend this book for secondary education teacher as a reference book and college students. It is a book to keep in your library at home to enhance your approach to rhetoric, expressive writing and writing for social change. It is a great book to refresh your memory about how to write a paper and enhance your skills in writing.
