Summary: A Compelling and Unique Story
Comment: Before I read this book, I was already somewhat familiar with the Tudor legacy, and I, like many other reviewers, had viewed Mary as an "evil stepsister" figure opposite Elizabeth's "Cinderella." However, after reading "Mary, Bloody Mary," my views were completely altered. I began to truly sympathize and warm up to the character of Mary, and I realized that her life was equally as difficult and painful as Elizabeth's, if not more. This compelling novel is the story of Mary Tudor, a young princess who's life is turned upside down when her father, King Henry VIII, leaves her mother, Catherine of Aragon, for Anne Boleyn, a courtier. Mary is stripped of her title of Princess of Wales and is sent away, forbidden to see her mother. When her half-sister, Elizabeth, is born, Anne Boleyn sends Mary to be a servant in Elizabeth's nursery. This book is a regular Cinderella story, except Mary is the Cinderella in this instance. This unique take on the Tudor story is a truly riveting tale with a strong heroine, and I strongly recommend it to any reader.

Summary: Mary, Bloody Mary
Comment: If you're looking for a good read you found it in Carolyn Meyer's Mary, Bloody Mary. When a young women named Anne Boleyn tries to break up Mary's royal family and steal her fathers heart along with the kingdom. Mary just won't stand for it. Mary is proclaimed illegitimate, at same time Anne orders for her mother (Queen Catherine) to be put in two different households.
Through out the novel it is Mary's mission to get back her father and the kingdom. This thrilling novel will take you through the good and bad times of the 1500's. It's a natural page turner, a must read. This book is intended on a mature audience.
