Summary: Good for tutors!
Comment: I was given this dictionary as a graduation present from my french professor and at first did not see how it would be useful in teaching. As a dictionary it's pretty limited, because it has a small vocabulary. It's really a children's dictionary, and it would be great for kids: they can even just browse through the pages and learn things at random ... But I was teaching college students. Then a little while ago I discoverd this book is wonderful for working one-on-one to practice conversation and description: The students are always afraid when they have to speak out loud in their foreign language, and left to themselves they sometimes can't think what to talk about. But here they have a picture to give them ideas, and they have some important words next to it. Best of all, there is such a variety of things here that if they get bored, they can always turn the page. Also the student is introduced to an important francophone/international cartoon character.
