Summary: great overview of FDDI from computer science perspective
Comment: The book "Understanding FDDI" by Andrew Mills provides an excellent overview of the computer science behind FDDI networks. It describes the various components of the network, their role and significance, and even delves into the details about how they work with regard to the data bits and token signals. Used this book for research while taking a graduate Computer Science Networking course...it gave me all the information I needed, and then some. The only negative part of the book is the hefty price tag. Fortunately, the library had a copy.
