Summary: Good enough to pass the exam
Comment: The reason I prepared for this exam was because I did not have much NT4 experience. There are not as much study guides available for this exam as there are for others.
I decided to go for Syngress because I enjoyed their other publications.

Overall this book does a good job but there are errettas in the book and on the CD. If you can spot them it means you know the stuff. The .avi clips on the cd are really good.

I don't think enough proof reading has been done before the publication. Otherwise the demand-dial part in RRAS would have been completed.

This book is enough to pass, even if you don't have much experience. Just check the MS website for some white papers.
It's not an easy exam IMO

Summary: NOT ENOUGH
Comment: HARDEST EXAM SO FAR !! FAILED 3 TIMES

I bought this book and also the exam cram for this exam.
Also used the Transcender and Selftest software for preparing
myself for this exam...and also braindumps + technet

It was not enough... because i failed 3 times

I have about 3 years of experience with nt 4 and also passed
the old NT 4 core exams + tcp/ip, with high scores

Unless you are an expert/guru in NT 4 networking, maybe
you can give it a try.... (740 or better)
M$ raised exam fees, so be carefull

I am not going to try it again (no fourth try), because i think that VUE and Prometric or M$ are cheating with this exam;
besides, there are failures in the exam questions and
sometimes there are ambigous.

I already passed Windows 2000 server and Pro 2000, these
exams are fair and easy to pass if you study, practice and
use Transcender.

I studied for the 70-244, used all the resources available and
FAILED 3 TIMES

You are better of doing a windows 2000 exam, Active Directory
(and some usefull electives) or a CITRIX CCA exam.

Forget Windows NT 4 !!

Keep trying, but don't be a fool

Bye.

Summary: It was rushed into publication...
Comment: Overall this is a pretty decent study guide, however, certain content indicates that it may have been rushed to the printer before a thorough tech review. There are numerous errors in the CertTrainer quizes and some of the content is either confusing, incomplete, or blatantly incorrect. Examples include beginning to discuss Demand Dial configuration and never completing the config in RRAS and the explanation of the relatively simple concept of ARC pathnames used in the boot.ini. I used this study guide to pass the 70-244 exam and the topics discussed in the book do a fairly good job of covering what was on the test. My exam was a bit heavier on IIS than what was covered. With a little polish this guide could have been great.
