Summary: The most useful and complete DBA book
Comment: This book is a very useful book for both experienced DBA and Beginners as well as for an application developer. It gives a complete coverage of Oracle 8i DBA as well as Oracle 7.x
A large number of examples and tips that helps DBA to perfectly tune an Oracle database. Very usefel chapters about database tunning these help me to perfectly tune our Oracle databases. and to enhance its performance.
A very useful appendix of the most commonly used SQL commands in database administration.
I have read a large number of books in Oracle DBA, this book is the most useful one. I refer to this book every day in my work.
It is a very good investment. If you intend to buy a book in Oracle DBA buy this book now.

Summary: Very informative book on various DBA Tasks
Comment: This is a very informative book containing info on the common and everyday tasks a DBA would need to perform on the job. It covers everything a DBA should know and has some tips. It's written in an easy-to-follow language and it's also "fun" to read. It's a pleasure to read plus you'll get so much info out of this. This is a very useful resource especially for someone just starting out in the field of Oracle. Any experienced DBA should already know this info, and rather should be reading manuals then books like these. But for everybody else this is excellent and certainly should be part of any DBA's library. Even if this just for review. Each page is filled with useful and good information. A very good resource! One of my favorite Oracle Press books.

Summary: The best investment I ever made!
Comment: I lied on my resume to get a particular DBA job and got it all because of this book and after a few months on the job and asking stupid questions (and almost giving mydelf away) I actually turned pro. This book has enough excellent material in it to get you into the job and to keep you in the job.
I bougt a second copy to supoprt the author after this book nearly quadrupled my income.
