Summary: A Somewhat Unrealistic Book
Comment: Reading this was kind of nauseating. Don't get me wrong, this was a great book and all, but it was kind of sickening because she kept going back to him. I know people are going to say it's easier to say that when it's not you who is in the abusive relationship-but it seemed like pretty much common sense to me. Where I come from (an urban African-American community), the women here are so strong and you hardly ever hear of this type of thing happening.
When she finally decided to get help and the lady warned of what Ray would try, she still would't listen- how naive could you get? She should have saw the warning signs anyway from what he did when they were still children. Don't give me that she was too young to know mess either because the fact is:society doesn't give young people enough credit- we know more than you think we do. I don't know why it's so hard for some people to realize, after being hit the first time, that the second time could be their last.

Comment: THIS IS THE MOST WONDERFUL BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. UNFORFUNATLY I HAVE HAD TOO MANY THINGS IN COMMON WITH THE AUTHOR. THIS BOOK HAS GIVEN ME SO MUCH HOPE THAT I TOO WILL SURVIVE. IT HAS GIVEN ME SUCH INSENTIVE TO TALK ABOUT MY EXPERIENCES AND TRY TO MAKE OTHERS AWARE OF THE MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABUSE THAT IS HAPPENING EVERY DAY. IT HAPPENS MUCH MORE THAN ANYONE KNOWS. I WANT TO TELL AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN ABOUT THE SIGNS THAT ARE OUT THERE WHILE THEY ARE DATING. THINGS THAT SEEM LIKE NOTHING BUT ARE REALLY WARNING SIGNS. I WANT TO HELP. I ONLY WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE HELPED ME. I CAN AND WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. EDUCATION IS THE ANSWER/THE KEY. I HOPE TO SEE PART 2 OF THIS BOOK SOON

Summary: An absolute necesity!
Comment: Kathryn Clarke's book the Breakable Vow is an absolute necesity for every teenager and college student. As a college student myself, the information I learned from this book has been immensely useful in my life. I urged parents to buy this book for their children, it is a necesity in our society today. It not only describes the horrors of abuse, but more importantly clearly states the warning signs so that people like myself can stop any violence before it happens. The fictional story is beautifully written with incredibly interesting characters. You will not be able to put this book down!
