Summary: Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married
Comment: I thought this was a cute book, albeit very obvious. I enjoyed this book and thought it was very witty with a cute ending.

Summary: i'm thinking....no.
Comment: Everything was way too obvious and drawn out. I'm not sure I would recommend it unless you want to read about someone being depressed all the time...and ignoring the obvious fact that her father is an alcoholic...and that she only dates lazy bums...and that she is so blind that she can't see that her friend likes her throughout the entire 400+ pages!!!! Lucy Sullivan whines too much for me. And everything in the book is too obvious and her views are way too pessimistic for light, enjoyable reading. For light, funny, enjoyable reading...I would recommend the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella.

Summary: Excellant! A surprising read!
Comment: Okay, so I just finished this up last night. Let me tell you, DO NOT be fooled by the cotton candy pink cover with it's cutsie little cartoon bride on it. I picked this up expecting a fluff piece, something to read in a day, nothing that would pull at my heart strings, dredge up old boyfriend and girl friend memories, remind of my own self-consciousness and self-doubt, etc etc etc. What did I get? A very deep look at what could have been myself, minus the problems with alcohol and family splits. It reminded me of my "single and stupid" days. The days when I lived for the nights. The nights when the person I thought was my best friend would always, SOMEHOW, forget that she only had enough money to get into the club and buy one round of drinks. The friend who ALWAYS offered to pay back but never did. And the nights filled with boys in bars who thought that they were Gods Gift and could never remember your phone number until it was 2:30 and their night spent at a different bar did not produce an adequate bed partner. Marian Keyes is witty, sarcastically funny, and a great story teller. I can't wait to read her other books!
