Summary: Fun and easy to understand...
Comment: Several months ago I set out to teach myself German. I shopped around first, going to book stores to compare materials before spending my money. Of all the books I examined, this one was my favorite. It is especially useful when used in conjuction with a book & tape course such as "Mastering German". This book takes something that looks difficult, and makes it fun and easy to understand. It plainly explains pronunciation, noun cases, noun gender, conversation needed in various social situations, and much more. Es ist fantastisch! (It is fantastic!)

Comment: There are much much better books out there. This book almost has no structure and no content, I don't know how they made it 400 pages. I got very annoyed with it. Just get anything else.

Comment: Don't wate your money on this book. It's hard to understand, and leaves a lot unclear. If you really want to learn German, get yourself an English-German dictionary and take a class at your local community college.
